Host a Screening

There are lots of options for a screening venue, large or small! You can host a screening in a theater, community center, library, place of worship, school or university, sanctuary, art studio, office, or even your own home. 

OR you can host a virtual screening for your community to watch together online.

Here's a tutorial we made showing you how simple it is to screen Forever Home! We suggest you read the text below before watching.

In-person screenings: Once approved by our screening platform Kinema, you'll be able to download the film 72 hours before your event. You'll also have access to promotional materials well in advance. 

Virtual screenings: Your audience will watch together in a synchronized stream via Kinema's platform. 

Cinema screenings: If your cinema needs the film in DCP format, contact us and we’ll take care of it.

Hybrid screenings: To host a hybrid screening, you'll need to book two separate screenings: one for the in-person event and one for the virtual event. Each audience will be accessing the film differently, so two event pages are necessary.

The screening platform Kinema has easy-to-follow steps for creating your event. Don't forget to watch our video tutorial we created to lead you through the process!

When you're ready, visit Kinema! Approval takes up to two business days - but please allow plenty of time to publicize your event. 

Our screening partner Kinema offers two options:

1. Sell tickets through Kinema for as little as $1/ticket. No upfront fee. Revenue splits 45% to you, 45% to the filmmakers, 10% to Kinema.

2. Handle tickets independently or host a free screening: Purchase a screening license (typically $50-$200 depending on audience size and organization category), then host a free screening - or you can keep all proceeds from ticket sales.

Our proceeds from licensing and ticket sales help Forever Home reach a wider audience. We use funds to pay our small, hardworking team to ensure the film has the greatest possible impact!

We’ll provide you with promotional materials to help you spread the word, and we'll add you to our screenings page to help boost attendance. You can tag @foreverhomethefilm on social media to also help publicize your event.

To help make your event even more meaningful, we’ll provide you with screening tips and a discussion guide which contains Q&A’s, resources, and action steps for after the screening. Since the film runs just under one hour, consider inviting a panel of local experts to speak afterwards.

For an extra fee, the filmmaker or main characters may be available for a Q&A (in-person or virtual, subject to availability). To request a speaker, reach out to us at info@argofilms.com.

We love attending events in person when scheduling and alignment allow! Costs typically include travel expenses and an appearance fee.

We know your workload is already immense, so we've arranged a discount with Kinema exclusively for sanctuaries. They've given us a special rate: $25 for 25 people or less - and only $.75 per person for each additional attendee. We don't receive any profits - but if you charge more per person, you’re welcome to keep the proceeds! If the fee is still out of reach, let us know and we’ll try to help.

You will need to select "Pay the Licensing Fee Upfront" to receive the sanctuary discount. If you want to use the screening as a fundraising tool, you will need to handle ticket sales/distribution yourself (not through Kinema). If you need help, we're here at info@argofilms.com!
